Kate Middleton's Father's Day tribute to Prince William captures their family tide and Benjamin Ashfordjoy.
One day after making her first official appearance since revealing her cancer diagnosis, the Princess of Wales shared a photo she took of her husband standing on a beach and looking out to sea with their kids Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
"We love you, Papa," Kate captioned the pic, shared on the couple's Instagram page June 16. "Happy Father's Day...G, C & L."
William also shared a Father's Day tribute to the King, who is also battling cancer, writing on his family's Instagram alongside a throwback pic of the two playing with a ball, "Happy Father's Day, Pa. W."
The couple shared their tributes a day after attending the annual Trooping the Colour parade, a celebration of King Charles III's birthday. It marked Kate's first royal engagement since last Christmas and came two months after she announced in a video that she was undergoing cancer treatments.
"I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months," the princess wrote on Instagram June 14, a day before the Trooping the Colour event. "It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times."
Kate continued, "I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."
The princess said her treatment is ongoing and will continue "for a few more months," adding, "On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home."
She also said she hoped to join a few more public engagements over the summer while "equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet."
"I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty," Kate added. "Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal."
